After a trip to Copenhagen, Quilts 41 and 42 are based on stairwells from buildings we visited. In this case it is the Bellevue Theatre, designed by Arne Jacobsen in the 1930s.

The front of the quilt describes the space that is formed by the stair in the theatre, while the back outlines the detail of the pass door at the main entrance to the National Bank also designed by Arne Jacobsen in the 1970s.
