For this first quilt, we took one of Annabelle’s mother, Elizabeth Henderson’s favourite and well-worn indigo Plantation shirts by Issey Miyake. The ‘voids’ between the unpicked shapes of the shirt are made ‘positive’ using red needle cord and other old family shirts.

The front pocket of the shirt stands alone on the back of the quilt.
