Quilts 13 and 14 were made as a response to a residency for London Craft Week at The Ace Hotel in Shoreditch. We decided to make a pair of quilts based on The Barbican, designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon.

The iconic balconies are picked out in closer detail here, using a collection of shirts. The opposite side marks the outline of one of the concrete service doors. The fabrics include well worn shirts, corduroys and a victorian french linen table cloth.
