Having visited Can Lis, a villa designed by Jorn Utzon for his wife in Mallorca in the 1970s, we decided to make this quilt about the main living space at the heart of the house.

The pale blue, grey and sand coloured shirts, belonging to architects John Miller and Michael Laird, echo the colours of the building in its landscape. The spacial composition of the room is etched into the quilt, almost as a drawing.

The reverse of the quilt takes a single elevation from the room, the dark forms describing the relationship between door, window and fireplace.
