A handrail from Casa V by Act Romegialli is the starting point for this quilt. The support of the handrail is made more fragile as if floating on the quilt. The vibrant red is one of Martin Boyce’s favourite Comme des Garcons shirts. White and pink shirts were deconstructed and re-sewn to create the background.

Japanese cotton which had been used in a stage set designed by Simon Starling was used to create the stairs for the handrail on the back of the quilt.
