Quilt 23

Continuing our exploration of buildings by Scottish architects Gillespie Kidd and Coia, we visited St Peter’s Seminary, designed by them in 1966, but now completely dilapidated. We learnt of a small convent on the site, and this quilt is our response to this part of the building in it’s ruined state.

The reverse of the quilt, picks out the plan of the two small chapels attached to the convent and, almost like a hallmark the back-to-back  shapes outline the detail of the hewn edge of the concrete beams in the main building.
