Having made Quilt 31 after a trip to see Haus Esters and Haus Lange, designed by Mies Van Der Rohe in 1928 in Krefeld, we decided to continue in the same vein. Mies won a competition in 1930 to design a new Golf Club that was never realised. Like the reverse of Quilt 15, in which we imagined ourselves in a demolished building. We decided to make a quilt that imagines the view across the landscape from within the unrealised building.

The reverse side of the quilt traces the outline of the building as it might have appeared in it’s landscape.
