While exploring the work of architects Gillespie Kidd and Coia, we visited the Dollan Baths, built around the same time. As a piece of Scottish brutalism, it embodies the spirit of optimistic Civic architecture. The quilt is an abstraction of the concrete exoskeletal structure and it’s ancillary chimney.

For the reverse of the quilt, the Dollan Baths in East Kilbride lead us to the now demolished Magnum Centre in Irvine, the entrance to which is traced into the quilt.
