This quilt is inspired by the tiled flooring of the Olivetti Showroom in Venice designed by Carlo Scarpa in 1957. The small irregular handmade glass floor tiles are placed in the grout by hand to give a less disciplined order. The composition and quilting of the quilt reflects this approach.

The simple black line and square on white at the back of the quilt refers to one of the Scarpa details in the showroom.
