We were commissioned by a Venezuelan friend to take a collection of small items of clothing from her extended family and to respond to the Parque del Este in Caracas. The 200 acre park was designed in the late 1950s by the Brazilian landscape artist, Roberto Burle Marx.
The reverse of the quilt shows a drawn line, made up from the clothes given to us, that outlines a simplified plan of the park and its amenities.
